
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - January 19th, 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. Pleshette began her acting career in the theatre and appeared in films in late 1950s. In later years, she was an important actor in films such as Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). From 1972 to 1978, Pleshette was a frequent guest in a variety of television shows. She was also a part of Emily Hartley, which earned her numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was born on January 31 of 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. Her parents were Jewish, the descendants of emigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary.Her mother was a dancer and artist who performed on stage under the name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was the stage manager for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
