tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th of 1976. His family was from Southern California and attended Huntington Beach High School where he was a top player on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez excelled in both activities at University of California, Berkeley. He led the football team into the 1996 Aloha Bowl, where he tied a school bowl record by catching nine times. Gonzalez also led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament a few months after. Gonzalez was then selected for the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall selection. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. He was then traded to the Atlanta Falcons. After his second year in the NFL the team never managed to catch less than 59 passes during one season.
